Your Cirium Sky login credentials (username and password) give you access to the Cirium Sky data warehouse. It is important that you protect these credentials to avoid unauthorised use of the data warehouse by third parties/malicious attackers.
Things you must do
-
The first time you connect - change your temporary password to something only known to you.
-
Pick a strong password - ideally, use a password manager to generate a completely random password for your account and store it securely. If this is not an option, the National Cyber Security Centre have some useful advice here: Protect your email by using a strong and separate password.
-
If you believe another person has stolen your password, immediately change it and inform Cirium Support.
-
When connecting, use TLS to ensure data is encrypted in transit (See Connecting to Cirium Sky for connection instructions).
Things you must not do
-
Share your credentials with another person - if someone else needs to connect, they should contact Cirium Help Desk to be given their own credentials.
-
Make your credentials publicly available (e.g. by storing them in a Github repository in plaintext).
