Your Cirium Sky Managed Warehouse may be accessed using a range of standard tools and applications. Cirium Sky presents data using Amazon Redshift, a popular data warehousing solution that can interface with standard BI Tools as well as bespoke applications.

Connectivity Options

Currently, due to the varying restrictions in our customers networks, Cirium Sky Managed Warehouse is available on two ports on the alto.sky.cirium.com domain address:

• The default Redshift port 5439

• The HTTPS port of 443 for when customer network restrictions prevent the use of 5439

Both of these ports are protected using IP allow listing. In order to ensure connectivity, please ensure you have sent your static IP address or range of IP addresses through to our support team at helpdesk@cirium.com.

In cases where customers cannot use IP allow listing, we are introducing the addition of a new domain ssh-host.sky.cirium.com which can be used to establish a SSH tunnel, allowing access to Cirium Sky without IP allow listing.

How it works

We are aware that not all users are able to easily notify Cirium of the outbound IP addresses that will be used to access the Cirium Sky Managed Warehouse. Because of this we are introducing access via an SSH tunnel. Similar to a VPN, this tunnel allows users to access Cirium Sky as if they were on the same network as outlined in the diagram below:

You have the option of connecting directly through an IP allow list or via an SSH Jump Host
