How do you represent terminal and gate information?

There are known differences in the way we apply terminal and gate assignment information to flights based on how an airport is configured or how it is represented in the published schedule the airline provides to us.

Normally, areas (concourses, piers, etc) are published as a gate prefix in our system and the facilities surrounding these areas (such as Central, North and South) may sometimes be published as Terminals. Unfortunately there is often inconsistency between how terminals, concourses, and gates are represented across all of our data sources so some of this data has been configured on an airport level in our system.
