Report Capabilities:
The FM Traffic Point of Sale report shows information for the flights operated from a specific airport or region to another region, broken down by Country of Sale. The results can be summarized across countries or airlines, or full details can be shown for all origin and destination airports with traffic between the regions.
Please note that in Point of Sale reports only "Reported Pax" are reported, while "Reported + Est. Pax", Revenue, Fares, and all other derived metrics are omitted. This is because Point of Sale breakdowns are only available for Reported Pax figures. When calculating the calibrated/estimated "Reported + Est. Pax" figures, we do not estimate down to the Country of Sale level of detail. Since FM Traffic Revenue and Fares are calculated and weighted with respect to "Reported + Est. Pax", and not "Reported Pax", it is not possible to show them in the Point of Sale reports.
When using this report, specify the origin airport or origin region, destination region, and the time period to display service levels between regions by Country of Sale. The report can return data in per day or per period (month, quarter, or year) granularity and may also be filtered by Service Class or specific Country of Sale. You can run directional reports to return data for only flights going from the origin airport/region to the destination region or non-directional reports which average figures from both directions of travel together. To display information for only one particular airline, specify that airline's code. Use the "Sum all airlines?", "Show Orig and Dest?", and "Show Countries?" checkboxes to configure which output columns are shown, and results will be summarized accordingly.
Airline Codes:
Use this field to concentrate on one or more specific Dominant airlines. Leave this field blank if you would like to show all Dominant airlines flying from the given airport(s) or region. When entering multiple airlines, use one comma to separate each airport code (e.g. "LAX,JFK,LHR").
Origin Codes:
This is the origin airport(s) on the routes you would like to examine. You can insert between one and twenty 3-character airport codes here. If you leave this field blank, then the region from the choose origin region field will be used. When entering multiple airports, use one comma to separate each airport code (e.g. "LAX,JFK,LHR").
Origin Regions:
Use this field to view data for all origins within the specified region. If you specify a value in the Origin code field, then the contents of this field are ignored. Check "All Except" to target the report on all origins outside of this region.
Destination codes:
These are the destination airports on the routes you would like to examine. You can insert between one and twenty 3-character airport codes here. If you leave this field blank, then the region from the choose destination region field will be used.
Destination Regions:
Use this field to view data for all destinations within the specified region. If you specify a value in the Destination code(s) field, then the contents of this field are ignored. Check "All Except" to target the report on all destinations outside of this region.
Connect Points:
These are the Connection Point airports where the flights stop on the routes you would like to examine. You can insert between one and twenty 3-character airport codes here, and results will be filtered to only show flights which stop in one of these Connection Points. If you leave this field blank, then information for all routes are returned.
Show all Airlines:
Check this box to break-out a separate row of data for each airline that flies between the given regions. Uncheck this box to return the summed total for all airlines that fly between the given regions.
Show Origin and Destination:
Check this box to add Origin and Destination columns to the report output. If checked, all unique route combinations between the origin and destination regions will be shown on separate rows. Uncheck this box to have airport codes suppressed in the report output, effectively consolidating data for airports together.
Show Connect Points:
Check this box to see up to 5 stops per requested route. Uncheck this box to have all stops hidden.
Show Countries:
Check this box to add Origin Country and Destination Country columns to the report output. These serve as supplemental informational columns if the Show Origin and Destination? box is also checked. However, if Show Origin and Destination? is unchecked, and this box is checked, then data is consolidated on a country-by-country basis with each row listing travel between the origin airport/region and a destination country. Uncheck this box to have countries suppressed in the report output.
Show RPM’s:
Check this box to include the RPMs (revenue passenger miles) per requested route.
Directionality:
Choose whether you would like to generate a report which only shows traffic flowing one way, from origin to destination, a report which shows traffic for both directions of travel, with origin to destination routes and destination to origin routes (possibly shown on separate rows or totalled together), or a report which averages traffic for both directions of travel together into one set of rows.
- Directional (one way)
Limit the results to only showing one direction. Only data from the origin airport(s)/region to the destination airport(s)/region will be presented on each line. - Bi-directional (both ways)
Show figures for both directions of travel. Data from the origin(s) to the destination(s) will be presented along with data from the destination(s) to the origin(s). When this option is chosen and Show Orig and Dest? is checked, data from the origin(s) to the destination(s) will be presented on some of the lines and data from the destination(s) to the origin(s) will be presented on other lines. If this option is chosen and Show Orig and Dest? is not checked, then data for both directions of travel are aggregated together on each line. The exception to this is when Show Orig and Dest? is not checked, but Show Countries? is checked, and you are plotting flights from an airport/region to a separate region of the world. In that case, data for each direction of travel is shown on separate lines. - Bi-directional Total
Show figures for both directions of travel aggregated together. Data from the origin(s) to the destination(s) will be summed together with data from the destination(s) to the origin(s). When this option is chosen, data for both directions of travel are always aggregated together on each line. - Non-directional (averaged)
Data both from the origin(s) to the destination(s) and from the destination(s) to the origin(s) will be combined and presented on each line of output as an average of the two directions.

Select a market share percentage here to serve as a minimum cut-off for filtering out the less-travelled itineraries which incorporate the routes you are examining. Data for all of the miscellaneous less-travelled routes with market shares less than the cut-off selected here is aggregated together into the "OTHER" row in the resulting report. For example, if you selected "1.0%", then any route that served less than 1.0% of the people flying in the resulting report would be combined together into the "OTHER" row of your report.
Travel Period:
Choose whether you would like to generate a report for only one specific month or quarter, a report which compares data for two different months or quarters, a report which lists data for each month/quarter between a start and end month/quarter, or a report which consolidates data together for the entire year culminating in a specific month. Note that when Compare Two Months/Quarters or Monthly/Quarterly Time Series are selected, an additional set of Month/Quarter and Year fields is displayed, and these must be set to the desired comparison period.
- Single Month
Show data only for the month specified by the Month and Year - Range of Months
Show data between the months specified by the Month and Year fields. - Compare Two Months
Show data for the specified month and year, versusa comparison month and year side by side. In this case, extra columns are added to the table of results showing both the absolute difference between values for each month and percent change of these values. - Monthly Time Series (Across)
Shows a time series of data between (and including) the two months chosen. Each month in the time series is given its own set of columns extending across the report table, and extra columns are added to the table to show the consolidated totals for all months queried. - Monthly Time Series (Down)
Shows a time series of data between (and including)the two months chosen. Each month in the time series is given its own set of rows extending down the report table. - Single Quarter
Show data only for the quarter specified by the Quarter and Year - Compare Two Quarters
Show data for the specified quarter and year, versusa comparison quarter and year side by side. In this case, extra columns are added to the table of results showing both the absolute difference between values for each quarter and percent change of these values. - Quarterly Time Series (Across)
Shows a time series of data between (and including)the two quarters chosen. Each quarter in the time series is given its own set of columns extending across the report table, and extra columns are added to the table to show the consolidated totals for all quarters queried. - Quarterly Time Series (Down)
Shows a time series of data between (and including)the two quarters chosen. Each quarter in the time series is given its own set of rows extending down the report table. - Twelve Month Sum
Show consolidated data for 12 months up through the month specified by the Month and Year - Annual Time Series (Across)
Shows a time series of data between (and including)the two years chosen. Each year in the time series is given its own set of columns extending across the report table, and extra columns are added to the table to show the consolidated totals for all years queried. - Annual Time Series (Down)
Shows a time series of data between (and including)the two years chosen. Each year in the time series is given its own set of rows extending down the report table.
Show Results:
Indicate whether you would like to have passenger figures returned on a "per day" basis, or on a "per period" basis.
- Per Day
Data in the passenger column will be expressed in daily totals, showing passengers per day. - Per Period
Data in the passenger column will be expressed in monthly, quarterly, or yearly totals, depending upon the Report type you have chosen. Setting Report type to "Twelve Month Sum" shows passengers per year, while setting Report type to "Requested Quarter", "Compare Two Quarters", or "Quarterly Time Series" shows passengers per quarter, and setting Report type to "Requested Month", "Compare Two Months", or "Monthly Time Series" shows passengers per month.
Service Class:
Choose one or more of the classes of service to concentrate on in this report: "All Classes", "First Class", "Business Class", "Premium Economy Class", "Discount Economy Class", "Other Classes". Each choice will filter your results to only include flights of that class category. By choosing more than one Service Class, you aggregate data together for all of the Service Classes chosen. Hold the CONTROL key to select multiple items.
Countries of Sale:
Leave as "ALL" to report on tickets sold in all countries which you can access. Or select one or more countries (multi-select by holding the "Control" key down) to only return data for specific countries in which tickets were sold.
This report can be run as HTML, Text, Excel, TSV or Chart.
Drilling Down:
If you generated a Report in HTML or Text Output Format, there are several ways you can use links from the report to "drill down" into additional information in more detail.
- Clicking on an airline code (if available) in the title of an HTML or Text-formatted report generates an Airline report which shows you the full name of the selected airline.
- Clicking on the 3-character Origin code (if available) in the title of an HTML or Text-formatted report generates an Airport report which shows you more details about the selected airport.
These options are only available in the HTML Output Format, where they are accessed by clicking on links in the appropriate column:
- Dom Al
Clicking on an airline code in the Dom Al column generates an Airline report which shows you the full name of the airline. - Orig and Dest
Clicking on any Origin or Destination airport code generates a report which shows details for that airport.
