Trip Monitoring typically starts 24-72 hours before the flight's departure date, when flight status data from data sources becomes available to our system. But it may also depend on your account settings. If you are subscribed for Cancellations and Diversions, these are monitored as soon as flight status data is made available to our system.
We aggregate schedules, airline, airport, and positional data from over 500 sources and handle over 50 million pieces of flight data each day. From these numerous sources, we've only seen operational data made available 24-72 hours in advance of the flight's departure date.
On schedule changes:
Trip Data Services does not currently monitor or alert on changes to the airline's published schedule. If there is a schedule change that occurs outside of this window in advance of the flight's departure, please resubmit traveler's itinerary with the new flight schedule and place it back on queue to our system. If you're using the Trip Import API to send us your trip data, please send us another Trip Import API payload request to our system with an updated version of the trip.
