The IATA Reservation Booking Designator (RBD) are used to define the class of service (see the summary of RBDs by class below). You are probably familiar with hearing RBDs like F, J and Y, right?
Other classes are the RBDs that airlines use for award tickets and upgrades. Just remember the acronym ROGUE for all of the special case RBDs that make up “Other Classes”.
Class of Service and RBD
- First Class: F,A,P
- Business Class: C,J,D,I,Z
- Premium Economy Class: Y,S,W
- Discount Economy Class: B,H,K,L,M,N,Q,T,V,X
- Other Classes: R,O,G,U,E [ROGUE] That makes them pretty easy to remember as not belonging to the main classes.
